I love how water meanders through salt marshes or in vistas like this one in the Thimble Islands. The solidity of the land lays in contrast to the fluidity of the sea. Each element sings to its' own strengths and each supports life in various forms. In paintings, such as this one, the viewer is welcomed in to the journey and then it is entirely up to their imagination what lies around the bend.
