The strength of cypress, pine, or other small trees that are growing on top of or on the edge of coastal islands cannot be denied. They are constantly exposed to all of the elements. They are wonderful to paint because there is so much motion in them and a sense of the wild. This painting is of Horse Island in the Thinble Islands. The island is owned by Yale University and is maintained as an ecological labratory. It is the largest of the islands at 17 acres.
Windswept original watercolor is sold in a gold frame that measures 3.75" x 4.75". The print is sold with a white mat and backing measures 3" x 4".
