Nook is a pastel painting of the entrance into the building where my brother lives. Two window seats flank the front doors. It's a warm and inviting element to have as you enter the building. It provides the space to linger in a 'hello' or 'goodbye' with visitors, read a book or newspaper, write a card to someone you love, or just find stillness in your mind.

Our family house had a window seat and we loved it. It had built-in storage where we found some of our favorite childhood books and toys and was next to a large picture window overlooking a hill where we sledded in the winter. I remember wonderful conversations with friends and family happening in that little nook.
