Untamed is a soft pastel painting of the island in the middle of Mt. Warner Lake, little Mt. Warner in the background, and the subsequent reflections. It was so peaceful painting this en plein air sitting behind the church on Rt. 47 as spring emerged.

While I was painting a nice older gentlemen, a member of the congregation, introduced himself to me. We had a lovely chat and, before he left, he offered use of the restroom in the church before he locked up. I was struck by the kindness of such a simple gesture and a world that aches for that kind of warmth and consideration. My painting was most definitely affected by the interaction and the way I felt welcomed by a stranger.
