Vernal is an original pastel painting of the vernal pond a stone's throw from our house. I painted this when spring was just waking up and the rays of the sun were turning more golden. Frogs were still asleep in their muddy chambers but the air was now sweeter and buds were filling with color. I love the reflections in this little pond and imagine myself doing a series of paintings throughout the seasons. Ah, so much to paint. An abundance of inspiration surrounds me here.
